“VRUDDHI” conducts a three-day programme on Appreciative Inquiry (AI). The participants learn about the approach, principles and practice of the methodology. The “AI” focuses on generating and applying knowledge that comes from inquiry into moments of excellence, periods of exceptional competence and performance – times when the people have felt most alive and energized. The word “appreciation” also means “value addition”.
The genesis of the theory culminated as a practice for organizational change and in 1994 professional development workshop in Appreciative Inquiry was offered for the first time by NTL Institute of Applied Behavioural Science.
V.M.Ramalingam (Ram), who is the Lead-Facilitator of this programme , was professionally certified on “Appreciative Inquiry” by NTL Institute and also by Tao Institute, USA in 2001. It can also be applied for improvement (effectiveness) of micro systems (one, two, a few or a team).“AI” is both a process and a philosophy. It is a process for engaging people in building the kinds of families, communities or organizations they want to live in. The process comprises 5 phases: Definition, Discovery, Dream, Design, Delivery/Destiny.
